Well in all understanding, I do feel bad for our homeless in America. I do understand some choose the life and others are thrown into the life but in either way It is and must be a tough life, I am trying to understand that and also enjoy the inspiriational stories of how someone’s life was changed because they helped in some way!!!!! However, when a homeless man focuses on your 4 year old daughter the act of kindness get thrown out the window, when they try to convince your 4 year old daughter to give him her food, and try to have her follow him the rule book of “kindness” gets punched in the face. My family and I were at a weinerschnitzel and this “homeless” man came up to my daughter and tried to touch her and talk to her, My husband asked him to leave immediately, I felt a little bad not asking if he was hungry but I was to stunned by the fact that he Chose my 4 year old to talk to instead of my husband or I. Well He came back to talk to HER again this time my husband got extremely upset, A lady gave him some money in hopes that he would leave us alone but he didn’t, then continued to ask Izzy for her food. Chris became angry and an older man asked to buy him a hot dog in which he replied “no thanks, I don’t eat meat” What!, you are trying to eat my daughters food but you don’t eat meat, what ever, you aren’t getting anything from me because if you keep pestering us I will undoubtedly have to bail my husband out of jail!!! Just about then my lovely little girl stood up and yelled “why does this HoBo want to eat my food”, I was a little embarrassed but realized she must have had enough of it and spoke her mind with any respect, He chose her to fixate on. There were other families there with less intimidating husband to say the least but he chose our family which is scary especially since it was Izzy who kept him coming back. It was quite scary now that I look back and realized it wasn’t the food he wanted because he was given money to buy his own, but something about my daughter, it freaks me out to think, but at least she vocalized her discomfort which is all I can ask for. I am glad everyhting went smootly and no one is in jail or hurt or any worse for the wear but we all gained a little perspective in the end and sometimes that is worth it’s wieght in gold.
Well this summer went by pretty fast, I am registered for my first class in 10 years and it is a little scary. I am sure I will get into the swing of things fast. We have been keeping busy during the summer, by mostly swimming and going to legoland. We still have a few more dance recitals and 1 tae kwon do exhibition to go as well. It will be sad to see summer end!!! Well I hope everyone is having a great summer.
Been a little crazy around here. For the most part those of you who have facebook have already seen the photos but for those of you who haven’t here you go. In the Spring Chris and I took a trip to Laughlin for the Laughlin river run. Yes we rode the whole 5-6 hours up there and the freaking 7 hours (in the wind and cold) back. It was a lot of fun to get away for a while and enjoy ourselves. It was so hot that we were nasty and sticky most of the time but had a great time anyways, unfortunately it was freezing on the way back :) Nothing like riding in the strong wind and cold for 7 hours :) The kids stayed with my mom and had a great time.
Well I haven’t been able to blog due to some technical problems, but now I am trying to remedie it. We have been quite busy withall sorts of fun activities. We had soccer for both kids which we love but is totally time comsuming it will eat you for breakfast. Both kids have there other sport as well, Izzy still does dance and Austin still does Tae kwon do, so when you mix soccer in there it becomes crazy for a bit. My mom came down at the end of april to watch the kids so Chris and I could get away. We went to the Laughlin river run, which is a biker rally. It was awesome we had a great time. Chris has been riding for 17 years so I feel safe on the back and I know all of you worry…but he hangs out of a helicopter for a living so for the most part I can’t let fear rule my life right? We are almost done with this school year, the last day is June 15th and I am excited for sumer. Isabelle will go to Kindergarten in September which i am ready for yet not ready for. I hope she has a strong teacher for her sake and theirs! we love our spit fire, she will conquer the world some day I know it… Well now that I can get back on here hopefully i can update more frequently.
Well we decided to take the kids kite flying! They had fun until…izzy had an accident! :( She fell directly on her face with no hands it was scary because there was so much blood but she is better now no worrie just a possible scar. Well there will be more updates to come…
Well it has been a great few weeks. Aunt Lindy and Uncle Bob came to visit the first weekend in March and we had a fun filled weekend. I hope they can finally walk! :) We went to Balboa park which is one of the most beautiful places in the world!!! The kids always have a great time there and especially with their family. My parents and brother and sister in law also came down to see everyone which is always fun…We barbque’d and had a good time. The following weekend I ran my first 5k since college, it was fun and always exhausting but I was proud of myself in the end for running it! The kids have started their soccer season again, coupled with tae kwon do and dance it is back to the grind, but I love my kids and it is so fun to watch them play all their sports and grow and learn team work. Austin lost his 5th tooth, yikes!!! My kids are getting so big right before my eyes it is amazing. I am applying to nursing programs for the fall of 2010. I have a few science classes I have to take this coming year but I am very excited about starting everything. Well I am trying to get all of this stuff into one blog so it is a bit rambly but hey that is me anyways right… I will see you later and hope to have more fun blogs to keep you updated.
Well it has been one heck of a month. Austin has had strep 3 times this month and if he gets it again then he has to have his tonsils out. There has been a lot of trips to the doctor and a lot of missed school. It has been quite frustrating. Chris and I both got it, but our little tank Izzy has yet to show any signs of it. At least we have one well child at the moment. Not to many pictures or blogs got done during this time but hey what can you do. Austin recieved an award last week at school. It was a proud moment for us. Chris got to come watch him. It was his first first grade award and Dad missed all of kindergarten so it was fun for him to get to see it. I have been trying to figure out a few things on this blogosphere, maybe they will work maybe they won’t but hey keeping up with all of this is hard sometimes for those of us who are behind the electronic times:)I am off to enjoy our San Diego Rain.! Yeah! Kind of cold but I am sure it warm up soon.
We will wrap up this year with alot learned, a year older and hopefully a year wiser. I predict another busy year filled with activities beyond my imagination and sports to play and just living with two active fun loving kids. When they say “it gets easier,” when might that be? I hope soon but all i see is things becoming more and more fasted paced. I do get more sleep on a brighter note! This year we all had friends leave(military life), loved ones pass and life lessons that made us stronger in some ways, yet more vulnerable in others. This year has taught me to see life as a gift and to enjoy all the things old and new, to embrace the challenges and to not complain but to create a plan to make the situation a postive one. I have had to learn that being nice all the time isn’t alway the best choice that sometimes you have to cut your losses to survive. People come into our lives and save us and some you were meant to save but that is all part of what makes us the people we choose to become. Thanks for listening to me ramble for the year of 2008. It has been a fun way to keep in contact with the ones i love. Thanks for being a part of it all. I will do my best to learn more about this whole blogosphere so it will be a smoother and maybe more consistant blog. SEE YA NEXT YEAR!!!!
Well as you can see we had a family night at school. We came up with the idea so we could promote our book fair. We had santa come to read to the kiddos. It is no surprise that Chris was santa. He did great. He came in on the motorcycle and the kids roared. It was awesome. What a great sport. And the book fair was a success. Thank you everyone that helped out!
For most of the last 2 or 3 months we have been going non-stop. Not a lot of time to catch our breath. Chris wasn’t home long before we threw him into our wild and time consuming schedule. We get home about 7:30 pm every night during the week except for friday in which we all live for but we have to be at games at 8:30 every Saturday which puts us all to bed early so we can get up early to get the kids fully dressed and fed before thier games. It is hard for me when their games are at the same time because I can’t see both but I get to run back and forth to both so it isn’t to bad. Dance performances are starting soon so we will be doubling the amount of time spent at the youth and teen center and traveling around. It sounds like I am complaining but I love every minute of it. They are so darn cute and i am one of “those” parents who scream and holler all the ” good jobs” and “way to go’s” I am also the team mom for Izzy’s team. This is her first year and I am friends with her coaches so it is a great fit and It has been fun, busy but fun. I thought things would slow down when they got older but it is just the beginning. I am also part of the fundraising commitee at school. This has been challenging to say the least but an experience to remember. We have the week off. This is exciting the only sport this week is tae kwon do Then off to enjoy the holiday week. There is a lot to be thankful for and I am so glad I have such wonderful family and friends to support me during all times of my life. I am thankful that Chris will be home during the holidays since he was overseas last year. It has been a blessing having him here to enjoy our super fun schedule! :) We love all of you and hope your holidays are filled with warm hearts and pumpkin pie!
The kids had fun trick or treating in the neighborhood. Time went by so fast we almost missed it. Austin was Jenga fett from star wars, and Izzy was Padme Amidala from star war the clone wars. yes we tried to convince her to be a princess but to no avail she wanted to be padme. Very cute though. we all had a safe and fun halloween.
